NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CITY OF NAPPANEE PLAN COMMISSION
The City of Nappanee Plan Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Nappanee City Municipal Center, 300 W. Lincoln Street, Nappanee, Indiana.
The purpose of the Hearing is to conduct a Public Hearing on Petition #01-26-PLN filed by Mike Beer of Ace Builders representing the property owner, Acorn Industries, LLC. The petitioner is requesting to change the zoning of real estate from R-1 Low Density Residential to B-2 General Business. The property is located at 2148 E. Market Street, Nappanee, Indiana.
LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF PROPERTY:
A part of the East Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 32, Township 35 North, Range 5 East, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the center of the highway 10 rods East of the Southwest corner of the East Half of the Northwest Quarter above named; thence North 350.00 feet; thence East 100.00 feet; thence South 350.00 feet to the center of the highway; thence West 100.00 feet to the place of beginning.
ALSO
A part of the East Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 32, Township 35 North, Range 5 East, more fully described as follows, to-wit:
Beginning at a point 1019.20 feet West of the center of Section 32, Township and Range aforesaid, and running thence North 347.55 feet to the South line of land owned by George C Kauffman and wife; thence West along the South line of said Kauffman's land, 35.00 feet; thence South approximately 347.55 feet to the center of U.S. Highway 6; thence East 35.00 feet to the place of beginning.
A copy of such proposal is on file in the office of the City Planner, Nappanee Block Building, 215 W. Market St., Nappanee, Indiana 46550 or contact tnunemaker@nappanee.in.gov. Written objections that are filed with the office of the City Planner before the hearing will be considered.
All concerned citizens will be offered the right to speak and voice their comment at the Public Hearing. The Public Hearing may be continued from time to time as may be found necessary.
